Samir Modi, is the Executive Director of the billion dollar K. K. Modi group. He is a key member in the top management think tank in the group, as well a serial entrepreneur. He is a graduate from the Hindu College, Delhi University and an alumnus of Harvard Business School. His expertise lies in conceptualizing, strategizing and setting up new businesses.
Samir is the Executive Director of Godfrey Phillips India (GPI)- one of the largest players in the Indian cigarette industry with an annual turnover of INR 2,800 crores. He is also the Director at Indofil Industries Ltd., a company engaged in the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of Agricultural and Specialty Chemical products globally.
Apart from his contribution to the group companies, Samir is also credited with launching Colorbar Cosmetics that caters to the needs of the contemporary Indian woman. Since its inception in 2004, Colorbar has received some of the most premier beauty awards in the country and has also achieved recognition for its successful retail and distribution strategies. Samir is also the brain behind India’s first of its kind convenience stores – Twenty Four Seven Retail Stores.
HIV / AIDS is a cause very close to Samir’s heart. In 1996, he established the Modicare Foundation to prevent the spread of AIDS, by enhancing awareness and erasing myths surrounding the disease. In 1998 he published and compiled a book called ‘The Positive Side’ for the same cause. The Foundation won the President’s Award for its exceptional work in gender related issues in India.
